Black Country Museum

On the 12th May 30 intrepid adventurers set out from The Bell for a coach trip to the Black Country Museum at Dudley. We were exceedingly lucky with the weather as there was hardly a cloud in the sky all day, and the journey was incident free. It was just the right sort of day to wander slowly round examining the old buildings and old means of transport. For many the highlight of the day was a canal trip through underground tunnels where limestone was mined and loaded straight into barges, thus removing the need to haul the limestone to the surface of the mine. Some members seemed to think eating traditional fish and chips from paper cones was a comparable highlight.
